I fixed my dryer!!!

Okay, I have to give myself a high five. I am the baddest chick. :)  The reason I say this is because I just fixed my own dryer with the wonderful help of this  Youtube video .  This wonderful man shows you how to fix a possible $ 100+ repair, for as little as $ 8 (in my case) and a little prayer and patience.  I got my friend to come over and watch my little one while I did this.  Yeah, yeah, I know, where was Hubby during all of this?  He has class on MWF night, so there ya go.  My brother-in-law is actually a handy man and told me to just buy a new dryer!  Uhh, sorry, I don't have "new dryer" money right now.

So, anyway, I go to Home Depot before work on Monday. The customer service rep advised, "Oh, sorry, we don't carry dryer belts."  Really? A home/hardware/everything-one-needs-for-home-improvement-and-repair store, and you don't carry dryer belts?...wow.  So I go to Lowe's, the rep says "Oh, I don't think we carry those."  Again, really?  What is with the world today?  Do we not try to REPAIR anything anymore?  Sorry, I don't buy brand new unless it is absolutely necessary or what I truly WANT to do.  So I tell the rep, "Well, your website says you have them."  He says, "Yeah, the website probably carrys them but I don't think we have them instore." So he gets on the phone and calls upfront and sure enough, they have them.  I bought the one that cost $ 7.98.  I wasn't sure of the size, but while reading on the website, one reviewer that bought the same one said it fit their old Kenmore, which is what I have.

Long story short, after saying a prayer, loosening a few screws and using some patience and elbow grease, I did it. It was so easy!  If it only lasts for one more load of clothes, the $8 belt was worth it!  Thank you Jesus!  Word to the wise, evaluate your situation and try to fix what you have before running out and buying something new. Peace and love. :)

My new (revisited) love!

The year was 1999, I was about to have my first experience.   Okay, okay, get your mind out of the gutter lol!  That year was when I 1st registered with ((((drumroll))) ebay!  I guess many of you ask, "How the heck do you remember that?!"  Well, part of my ebay username is the age I was in I registered.  Yeah, glad I did that.  Well the experience wasn't with selling or becoming an Ebay guru or anything like that...It was the first time I discovered the amazing world of nail art!  I had no idea of all the things you can do, hence my blog for today.

Well, I have always loved long nails.  I am an 80s child, so for the most part, you were doing big things if you wore RED nail polish.  Yeah, no designs, nothing fancy, but if you had LONG, "ho" RED (yes, that's what that scarlet red color was called by the women in my family back then lol) nails, you were pushing the envelope. Oh, how times have changed.

I can remember as far back as being about 10 years old and having long nails.  My Mom wanted me to learn how to play piano.  After going to a few sessions, my piano teacher told me that if I wanted to play well, I would have to trim my nails down.  Needless to say, that was the last lesson I attended.  I don't regret it, I just wish I had hung in there a little longer.  Anywhoo, my Mom would take me to Gibson's ( way before Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid were "the" drugstores) at least once a month and let me buy some new nail supplies.  I would get files, a new polish, hardener, all the essentials.  Sally Hansen was (and still is) the business and so my long nail journey began.  Fast forward to today and I have discovered so many different kinds of nail art, it is ridiculous!  There is no limit!  My toddler is tugging at me right now so I can't finish this blog.  Put it like this, I am now dabbling in foil nails, stickers, freehand, the elusive Sensationnail gel/shellac nail system, etc, etc!  I hope to post pics soon but no promises! :) BE SAFE! :)

I have lost the weight!

Well, it's official. Today is 8-21-12 and I weigh 134.5 lbs!  Whoo hoo!!  I am so excited.  I had to come on here and give you guys a quick whoop whoop to myself!  I am going to celebrate with an awesome cupcake from The Cupcake Collection right here in my neck of the woods!  Ooo, Sweet Lemonade sounds good right about now!  Thanks to all of you who read my lil piece cyberspace and keep on going with your goals!  If you are having trouble with weight loss, go to myfitnesspal.com, it is such a blessing!  Be blessed, stay safe, peace and love! **Update** As of 2-3-13, I am 132 lbs, 2 more pounds down!  I had a weak moment around the holidays of 2012 lol.  Now that I know that calorie counting works for me, it's wonderful to know that I can lose the weight when I want! That doesn't mean I will overeat, it just means that when I want that piece of cheesecake, I can have it. I know I can't have the whole slice and may have to do some extra cardio, etc that day. :)  Peace love and blessings!
