Whoo! It's been awhile...

Well, I have definitely been a stranger here.  The new look even threw me off!  Hope everyone had a great 2011 and hoping you are having an even better 2012!  I have so much to talk about, I don't even know where to begin.  My blog is turning into somewhat of a public diary for me. Anywhoo, that's all for now, I hope everyone is well!

My Fitness Pal (dot) com!

Hi everyone!  I know it's been a looooong time. Between family and work, there is little time to do much else.  Anywhoo, I came on here today to post a quick blog about my recent (the last 5 months) of weight loss!  Whoo Hoo!  To make a long story short, in the past decade and a half, I have usually stayed within the range of 125-135 and my butt ballooned to 164.5 lbs after having my baby.  Yeah, that number was all it took to get me moving.

I got up to 180 lbs while pregnant.  I wasn't trippin on that at all.  I mean, I WAS pregnant ok?  Anyway, about a week after having my beautiful baby girl, all the water, etc came off and I was right at 160 lbs.  Well, a year (and LOTS of stress) later, I said enough was enough after I got on that scale in December 2011 and it said 164.5 lbs!!!  I was like, what the heck happened?  It's called life, ya'll.  We had 6 (yes I said SIX) deaths in the family, had to handle three estates, I was still laid off work and had to find a job, deal with court stuff, etc.  I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown.  I realized all the stress of the deaths, travel, estate stuff, and having a newborn on my hip, my eating and physical activity habits were on the back burner.

I am very happy to say today, June 2, 2012 (Happy Bday Hubby!) that I weigh 142 lbs!  I am about 7-12 lbs away from my goal weight.  I say that weird  range because my initial goal was 135 lbs, but now I am considering trying for 130 so I can have that 5 lbs to play with.  Exercise has NOT been the main contributor to my weight loss.  I started around January 2, 2012 with my new lease on life (it was NOT a New Year's Resolution, just a "fed with being chunky" attitude).  I started with my Turbo Jam about 4 times a week, but after a terrible storm hit and our roof started leaking, my exercise was put on hold because of the roofers having to tear up the house to fix the roof.  It was a blessing, though, because insurance covered the WHOLE thing! Thank you Lord.  I guess many of you may ask, "Why couldn't you go to a gym or walking?"  Can you say, an extremely active 19 month old baby, a husband and myself who work 40 hour a week jobs?  Need I say more?

The main contributor to my weight loss has been (((drumroll))) My Fitness Pal!!!  OMG, this website is awesome.  It's similar to calorie count and many others, but I got a new smartphone for Christmas and the myfitnesspal app has been a lifesaver!  I have never counted calories so diligently before in my life but I am here to tell you, it works!!!!!  Try it if you are struggling with trying to fit in exercise and can't seem to lose weight.  I can't begin to tell you how good I feel knowing watching what I eat is the majority of what has helped me drop these pounds!  My physical activity these days consist of daily activity like working in the yard watering plants, mowing the yard, weed eating, trimming the hedges, etc.  Hubby watches baby girl while I do these things.  I really enjoy it.

Well, I could go on and on about myfitnesspal but I am limited on time.  I just wanted to give you guys a snippet of what's been going on in my life.  Be blessed and take care of yourselves!

****Update**** Today is June 3, 2012 and I am officially 139 lbs!  Bye Bye 140s!!!! :) :0)
