My (2nd) Two Year Natural anniversary!

Okay, so, I am super excited today!  No, not because of the Super Bowl, which I probably won't even watch...but because today, 2-3-13 marks my 2nd year of being relaxer free! I know some of you are like, "What? I thought you were already natural?"  Yeah, I WAS...from 2002-2009, but in 2009 I was tired of ssks, tangles, shrinkage, you name it and I texlaxed my hair!  Yeah, it was a hard decision at first, but I had already had two haircuts and I just needed something different.  I retouched about 4 times from 2009-2011 and on 2-3-11, I didn't know that would be my last one.  Over the past two years, I have seen an abundance of women do great things with longer natural hair and it's wonderful. I won't mention who I watch on youtube and who I follow on blogs but let's just say, these women are doing the dang thang. I think it's wonderful to see how far the black hair community has come, since the wonderful days of yahoo groups, lhcf, and the "all-we-had-at-that-time" messageboards. Yeah, some youtubers have become a little too commercial for my liking, but that's why I pulled my vids off youtube in 2009. I would like to return, but there are so many women that give such great info, I don't know how much I can contribute.

That being said, I did a huge chop (remember my hair was down to my butt crack? TMI I know lol!) in Dec 2012 right before Christmas and I have a few texlaxed ends left.  I cut 12 inches in the back and 8 inches on the sides. I won't be cutting the rest of the texlaxed ends off anytime soon, as I am actually enjoying the loose-textured ends. Yeah, I know, the natural hair community will deem me as "not natural" but honestly, I don't care. I have since moved out of the natural nazi realm and it's truly "just hair" to ME. I may texlax in the future, who knows? Right now, I am enjoying my brand new head of natural hair again and my 2 inches of texlaxed ends. I am in grow out phase again, but we'll see how long that lasts. Peace love and blessings!

***UPDATE - August 23, 2013*** So I have decided to add to this post for my own liking, and not start new posts, just to keep up w/my "new" journey.  This month marks me at 2.5 years post relaxer and my hair is doing sooooooo well.  I don't do a lot to it, just wash it maybe once a week, co wash a couple of times a week, try to keep my hair detangled and stretched out.

I use MINIMAL products these days, on both myself and my 2 year old.  Right now, I am rocking the faux shaved side (I want to shave my side soooo bad, circa Chante Moore/R&B Divas LA 2013, but I KNOW I will regret it later).  Faux will do, for now. ;)  My hair is BIG just like hers and I adore her hair! Anywhoo, I use a great detangler by Nature's Baby Organics and I will have review it for you guys later.  I still  use CON Argan Shampoo and avocado butter is my butter of choice.  I am trying to clear out my cabinets ( I don't even have a lot of stuff left) and KISS(Keep it simple silly).  I know it works, point blank period.  Well, that's it for now, hope to see you guys soon!
